Iron Chef Cat Cora’s marriage to wife Jennifer Cora is ending after 17 years together.

In an exclusive statement to People Cat said: “It is with great sadness, that after 17 years, a tremendous amount work, careful consideration and heavy hearts, my wife and I have mutually decided to no longer remain married.”

“In love, there is a season, a reason and a lifetime,” added Cora.

TMZ reports Cora 48, and her longtime partner both filed for divorce on the same day.

Divorce papers indicate Jennifer has requested full custody of the couple’s four sons – Cat is seeking joint custody.

Cora, the first female Iron Chef is best known for her featured role as an “Iron Chef” on the Food Network television show Iron Chef America and as co-host of Around the World in 80 Plates on Bravo.

On June 17, 2012, Cora was arrested in Santa Barbara and charged with DUI after rear-ending another vehicle. Breathalyzer tests indicated her blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

Cora pled no contest – she was fined $2,386 and sentenced to three years’ probation.

She later apologized and said she deeply regretted her decision to drive that evening.
