UPDATE: Six weeks after the rescue, Darren Lee says sales have diminished a bit, but they’re working on getting the business back up. Darren also says he brought entertainment manager Chuck back, as well as Sweetie, the stripper he fired during the broadcast.
Jon Taffer and his crew are getting down and dirty in Detroit again this week for the latest episode of the popular Spike TV series Bar Rescue, fittingly titled “Bare Rescue.”
This week, Jon is on a mission to help the failing Detroit strip club Chix on Dix, and no, we’re not making that up – the club just happens to be on Dix Street in Detroit.
Faced with the task of rescuing an establishment with a violent work environment and a staff without standards, Jon also finds himself dealing with a manager lacking the skill set required to run a successful business.
Darren Lee, the club’s manager, sent out a Facebook message this week inviting friends to join him at the club Sunday evening for a reveal party.
Come and join us on Sunday 12/13/15 doors open at six we will all watch and laugh together
The club appears to publicize itself under a variety of names, including Chix, Chix on Dix, Industrial Strip, and the Powerstrip bar, while on another Facebook page, the club goes by the name Chix Rock & Roll Gentlemens club, with the following description:
Hottest New Topless Gentlemen’s Entertainment club, Newly remolded, Under New Management, Great Atmosphere, Smokin Hot Dancers in a Rock & Roll Theme.
The club is also hosting a VIP viewing during Sunday’s broadcast of Bar Rescue on Spike.
As you can tell from the image to the left – that appeared on the club’s Facebook page – they’re anticipating a crowd and need “girls” to work the private VIP viewing.
C.W. Entertainment of Detroit bills itself as a recruiting agency for all the top gentlemen’s clubs in Michigan.
Instagram user maddddrabbit, posted an image of a ticket stub for admission to the private viewing party Sunday night during the Bar Rescue broadcast. She also wanted everyone to know that she appears in the episode – several times:
“Im all over the episode. Powerstrip bar in detroit! Not sure how the editing will go but no judgement im frickin excited and freaked out! Get ready to see me be a total jackass on ur tv….. Check it out!!!”
