As we originally suggested, KFC is testing Georgia Gold. On Friday, the chain announced restaurants in Mobile, Alabama, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, would be testing Georgia Gold now through September 4, 2016.

Inspired by the regional flavors of Georgia and South Carolina, KFC said Georgia Gold offers an “authentic, honey mustard BBQ to challenge conventional taste buds.”

Georgia Gold is available in Extra Crispy Chicken Tenders, Chicken Littles and Extra Crispy Chicken.

When testing wraps up on September 4, the chain will evaluate if and when the dish will be made available nationwide.

“For now, only KFC customers in Mobile and Pittsburgh will be able to try the new Georgia Gold recipe, after which KFC will evaluate when it will be available nationwide.”

Unlike the vinegar-based BBQ associated with North Carolina, KFC Georgia Gold is crispy with a balance of sweet and tangy honey mustard BBQ flavor. New Georgia Gold, KFC says, stays true to its Georgia original.

“The crispy and tangy flavor profile of Georgia Gold is like a grown-up honey mustard – sweet with attitude,” Kevin Hochman, KFC’s US CMO, said in a statement.
