Nomiku is the brainchild of former restaurateur Lisa Fetterman and her husband Abe Fetterman.
The Nomiku is a clip-on appliance that turns any pot into a temperature-controlled water bath, which provides a perfect environment for sous vide cooking. Additionally, no vacuum is required, so you can use any zip seal bag to get an airtight seal around the food you’re preparing.
Sous vide is the method of cooking vacuum-sealed food in a controlled low-temperature water bath. It’s considered a chef’s secret weapon because it allows anyone to craft consistently delicious, perfectly cooked dishes, effortlessly and consistently.
The Nomiku is designed to work with any pot at least 4 inches tall, and can circulate up to 10 gallons of water.
The New WiFi Nomiku sells for $249.99.
The Ask
Lisa and Abe offered 5 percent of their business in exchange for a $250,000 investment.
Feeding The Sharks
Lisa and Abe face five Sharks: Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner and Chris Sacca.
- Sales Since 2012: $3 Million
Did The Sharks Bite?
Kevin O’Leary offered Lisa and Abe $250,000 for 10 percent of their business.
Meanwhile, Lisa and Abe negotiated with Chris Sacca on a possible offer and Kevin O’Leary responded by pulling his offer off the table. “I’m Out!,” said O’Leary.
Chris Sacca offered $250,000 for 10 percent of their business, contingent upon Lisa and Abe retaining 40 percent of their company. That would require Lisa and Abe going back to their investors and negotiating a deal to buy stock back.
In the end, Lisa and Abe accepted Chris Sacca’s offer.

This is not a new or innovative product — because it already exists. Search Amazon for sous vide before you buy and you’ll see an array of options, all of which are cheaper, from established companies. Their claims of being first at anything are pretty sketch.
