Update: As Chew Boom first reported last week, Subway has launched the Italian Hero nationwide. It’s been occasionally spotted popping up in select markets for over a year, but now Subway appears to have bigger plans for their Italian Hero sandwich, with a national launch in the coming days.

The limited-time Italian Hero features three Italian deli meats – capicola, mortadella and Genoa salami, all topped with provolone cheese, oil & red wine vinegar, and sprinkled with Mediterranean oregano all served on Italian bread. The sub is being offered both cold and toasted.
It’s my understanding that the Italian Hero will be launched nationwide at participating locations within a week. One source tells me to watch for the sandwich to start rolling out beginning Monday, March 13, 2017.
