The new mashup features McDonald’s signature French fries topped with cheddar cheese sauce and applewood-smoked bacon. Nothing new here really – it’s a standard loaded fries build that’s generally available at McDonald’s competitors.

McDonald’s is promoting the new limited-time menu item as a sharable “Loaded Basket of Fries” that serves 2, for $3.99. According to McDonald’s, one serving has 440 calories – that’s 880 calories for the entire basket.

Judging by current availability – which is quite limited – it’s fair to assume the new loaded fries are in testing.

While loaded fries are relatively new at US McDonald’s locations, they’ve been widely available at numerous international McDonald’s locations for the past few years as both permanent, and limited-time offerings.
