Wendy’s Japan (Wendy’s First Kitchen) takes the low-carb menu concept to a whole new level with the introduction of the new Wild Rock Burger featuring a pair of square beef patties for buns.

Launching on August 9, 2017, the new Wild Rock Burger features an egg topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce and tartar sauce all sandwiched between a pair of Wendy’s signature square beef patties.

The brand says the new burger has 4.6 grams of sugar and cuts carbs by 85 percent – when compared with the standard Wendy’s double burger.

The new low-carb burger is priced at 650 Japanese yen, or about $5.86 US dollars if you’re keeping count.

The concept is reminiscent of KFC’s Double Down sandwich that debuted in 2010 with a “bun” consisting of two fried chicken filets, sandwiching bacon, Monterey Jack cheese and “Colonel’s sauce.”
