The Grammy award-winning country music star dons the iconic white suit and black tie as part of an ad campaign launching January 28 for the chain’s new Smoky Mountain BBQ fried chicken.

KFC picked McEntire because of her Southern roots, which ties in well with new southern-inspired flavor and the brand’s Taste of the South menu.

“I grew up with Kentucky Fried Chicken. It’s part of my story, and I’m so excited to now be part of theirs,” said McEntire.

“I’ve held a lot of roles in my life – sort of like the Colonel himself – but this is certainly the most unique one yet.”

Smoky Mountain BBQ rolls out nationwide on Monday, January 29 at participating locations in Extra Crispy Tenders, Chicken Littles and Extra Crispy Chicken. It will also be available in basket meals with three Extra Crispy Tenders or two pieces of Extra Crispy Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and a biscuit for a suggested price of $4.99.
