This cracker sold for the Titanic price of $23,000

It’s over 100 years old, and probably stale, but that didn’t stop a Greek collector from buying a cracker that survived the Titanic disaster for $22,965 USD.

The Spillers & Bakers Pilot cracker, which is undoubtedly the most expensive cracker in the world, was part of the survival kit that would have been found in every Titanic lifeboat. This particular hard “biscuit” survived the disaster fully intact.

Interestingly enough, the cracker only survived because James Fenwick and his new wife, who just happened to be on the rescue vessel the RMS Carpathia, decided to keep the cracker as a souvenir.

And that’s how the cracker crumbles.
