If successful in their bid for a license, four Burger King Restaurants in the UK will make history as the first fast food chain in the county to sell alcohol.

The chain wants to sell American beer in plastic bottles – to be consumed on premises – from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s UK has no plans to sell alcohol: “Although a number of European McDonald’s markets serve alcoholic beverages as part of their menu, this is not something that we have experienced customer demand for,” the company said in a statement on their website.

Burger King will likely offer alcohol across the UK if successful.
