Thieves make off with 15,000 melons in one honey of a heist

As many as 15,000 honeydew melons were stolen in a seedy heist that has police in Hamilton, Ontario searching for the suspects responsible.

Police say on New Year’s Eve thieves breached a fence at a parking compound and drove off with a 53-foot tractor trailer loaded with about $60,000 in melons, according to the Hamilton Spectator.

Police say the melons were originally destined for grocery stores in the Hamilton and Toronto.
