James Ross-Munro and Kane Wiblen were just chatting near a gas station on the Gold Coast when they witnessed an attempted robbery taking place at a burger joint, according to 9News. That’s when the pair went into action.

The good samaritans managed to capture the dramatic altercation on smartphone video. The video shows the pair approaching the empty white getaway vehicle, when the quick thinking Ross-Munro opens the car door and removes the key from the ignition, rendering the getaway car useless.

“I’ve got the f***ken keys, rob it now c***ts,” Ross-Munroe can be heard yelling at two men inside the burger joint.

Ross-Munro can also be heard yelling “call the cops.”

One of the alleged thieves can be seen fleeing the scene after realizing the car’s keys were gone, while Ross-Munroe chased the second suspect down the street, but both alleged thieves got away.

Police say they have a 23-year-old man in custody and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
