
The chef whose Swiss restaurant was named the best in the world in December, was found dead in his home Sunday in what police describe as an apparent suicide.

Benoit Violier, 44, operated the Restaurant de l’Hotel de Ville in Crissier. The Lausanne restaurant was crowned the “world’s best restaurant” in France’s La Liste ranking of the world’s 1,000 best eateries.
Swiss police said Violier appeared to have shot himself.
