This April, My Starbucks Rewards officially becomes Starbucks Rewards, the coffeehouse announced Monday.
The changes could mean some customers will have to spend more money to earn free food and drinks. Under the current rewards program, customers earn redeemable points for every purchase made. Starting in April, the rewards program will be based on points for every dollar spent.

Starbucks said the some things won’t be changing, like birthday drinks, free refills and access to order and pay ahead with your phone.
Keep an eye on social media for the reaction – it could get ugly.
A better change, to me, would be to remove requirements that $ must be *loaded* onto my gold card to earn stars. Hate that. @starbucksgold
