Do you have what it takes to create what could become the official McDonald’s burger for the great state of Texas?

If you think you do, your burger building skills could win you $5,000 in cool cash and bragging rights as the creative genius behind a burger that will be on the menu at McDonald’s restaurants across the state of Texas.

Here’s what you have to do to win: Mosey on over to McDonald’s official Burgers Showdown website and create your burger using up to 10 toppings from a long list of fresh ingredients. When you have completed constructing your burger, you have to name it. After you name your burger, you’ll be asked to fill in your personal details so you can be contacted in the event you create the winning burger.

From that point, you can invite your friends to vote for and share your creation on social media.

Texans have until March 27 to submit a burger for a chance to win the grand prize of $5,000 and Texas size bragging rights.

The voting phase of the contest starts on April 2 and runs until April 15.

The judging phase runs from April 18 until April 22, with the winner being announced on or around April 29.

During the Judging Phase, a panel of qualified judges will select the grand prize winner with the highest-scoring recipe based on the following Judging Criteria:

  • Taste (45%)
  • Creativity (40%)
  • Operations Feasibility (15%)
