If you’re a Food Network fan, Alton Brown requires no introduction. The celebrity chef, author, actor and all-around geek, is probably best known for hosting Food Network’s Good Eats, Iron Chef America and Cut Throat Kitchen. Today, we’d like to introduce you to the other Alton: The Alton Burger.

The Alton Burger was created by Alton Brown in collaboration with the restaurant chain Umami Burger, as part of the chain’s Artist Series.

The burger itself, not Alton, features a special beef patty made with Umami Burger’s signature beef blend mixed with bacon lardons. The breakfast burger is topped with cheddar cheese, miso-maple bacon, smashed cheesy tots, a fried egg, fried sage, and in-house coffee ketchup. It’s also worth noting that Alton Brown created the coffee ketchup. What doesn’t he do?

And with typical Alton Brown dramatics, when The Alton Burger arrives at your table, the server plunges a knife through the center of the egg yolk, causing the yolk to slowly ooze its way through the burger’s multiple layers, for a mouthwatering flavor sensation.

Umami Burger describes the Alton Burger as a tribute to a classic southern breakfast. This breakfast tribute is available from now until April 24 at participating Umami Burger locations nationwide.

$1 from each Alton Burger sold is donated to the Make-A Wish foundation.
