The next time you drop by your local Subway Sandwich Shop you’re probably going to notice a little something extra on the menu board: calorie counts.

Subway announced Tuesday that the chain would include calorie listings on menu boards across all US restaurant locations beginning April 11, 2016.

The move by Subway comes a year before the FDA’s mandatory menu-calorie labeling requirements come into effect.

Subway said the menu labeling milestone is the latest step in the brand’s journey to “evolve its menu to better meet the changing preferences and expectations of today’s guests.”
