“At a time of rising unemployment across the country and when youth unemployment is almost double the national average, McDonald’s has a variety of roles to offer whether it’s a first job or a new job,” said Sharon Ramalho, Chief People Officer for McDonald’s Canada.

“A job at McDonald’s provides our employees with relevant experience, world-class training and skills that set the foundation for future success and careers. Some people call them ‘soft skills’. We call them Skills For Life.”

McDonald’s Canada was the first fast food restaurant to establish an annual one-day hiring event. Since 2011, the company has hired over 28,000 employees as part of the initiative.
