The restaurant, which was formerly called Hurricane Alley, has been owned by Tasso Athans for only about year and a half, and Tasso is struggling to keep it afloat. Described as dirty and dark with subpar food, the Broad Street Bistro is plagued with helpless staff.

Tasso’s wife Kathy is unhappy with the amount of time he spends at the restaurant, and Yianni – Tasso’s son – who just happens to be a trained chef, tries to help out, but his father refuses to listen.

After ambushing both Kathy and Tasso, Robert plans a third surprise ambush that will keep everyone guessing.

You can check out the Broad Street Bistro‘s website for menu info. According to a notice, a new website is “Coming Soon.” We were able to find what appears to be the new website, which they may have been planning to debut sometime after the Restaurant Impossible episode airs.

They also have a Facebook Page where you can check out some photos, and weekly specials.

Here’a a look at some of the Restaurant Impossible magic.

Here’s a video featuring Tasso Athans as he stops by to talk about Broad Street Bistro and the restaurant being featured on Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine. The interview was part of a CBS Pittsburgh morning show feature.

The bistro is hosting an episode viewing party during the show’s broadcast on May 4. This week’s episode, “Ambush: Third Ambush Is the Charm” airs on Food Network on Wednesday, May 4, at 10:00 p.m.

The Reviews

As always, we like to take a look at online reviews of the restaurants Robert helps. Over at Yelp, we were able to find just one review since the makeover, and it is positive. Previous to the makeover, all of reviews are positive, but I have to stress that most of those reviews, of which there are only 5 overall,  go back before Robert’s intervention.

Here’s the positive review since Robert’s help:

  • The wings are awesome, had the garlic Parmesan. My wife had the Italian hoagie and it was huge. Prices are very fair.
