McDonald’s announced the return of Gilroy Garlic Fries on Thursday, July 21. But the buring question remains, will McDonald’s release Gilroy Garlic Fries nationwide? Only time will tell.

Well, it’s official. McDonald’s garlic fries are a huge hit. Last week the chain announced they’ve been testing Gilroy Garlic Fries at restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, and now comes news that they’ve run out of supplies.

Priced at $2.58, the new garlic fries were being tested in four Bay Area McDonald’s restaurants.

A representative with one of the Bay Area McDonald’s chains confirmed to the SFGATE in an email that they are out of Gilroy Garlic Fries and will be out for the next few weeks.

In less than two weeks, our small, four restaurant test of Gilroy Garlic Fries has been a huge success, and we are now experiencing a temporary shortage of supplies. We are excited about how many people have visited our restaurants to try the fries, and we apologize for any inconvenience to our customers.”

They Bay Area chain’s official Twitter account also tweeted the following message to fans:

Our #GilroyGarlicFries were such a hit that we have a temporary shortage of supplies. We’ll keep you updated on their return in a few weeks!
