Mention these two words “Pizza Pockets” to any Canadian, and they’ll know exactly what you’re talking about. That’s why McCain Pizza Pockets fans entered panic mode this week when rumors circulated on social media that the iconic Canadian microwavable baked snack was being discontinued.

Panic set in on Wednesday after Corner Brook, Newfoundland grocer Gene Coleman tweeted the popular Canadian frozen-food product was being discontinued.

But It Was All A Big Mistake
In an effort to calm fears, and prevent the masses from jumping off tall buildings, McCain responded to the rumor on Twitter, saying, “Hey Pizza Pocket fans, we heard you heard some rumours. … Here’s the scoop,” with a link to a webpage detailing the new Pizza Pockets, rebranded as Marché snacks.

Pizza Pockets Get A Makeover
The new oblong version of Pizza Pockets feature ridge lines and come in new packaging. The upgraded Pizza Pockets will join McCain’s new Marché line, which includes Harvest Pockets and Protein Pop’ables.
McCain Marche Pizza Pockets are available in three varieties – Pepperoni, Delux and Three Cheese.
- Pepperoni Pizza Pockets are filled with real mozzarella cheese, pepperoni and a savory tomato basil sauce.
- Delux Pizza Pockets are loaded with peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, real mozzarella cheese and a tomato basil sauce.
- Three Cheese Pizza Pockets feature a blend of mozzarella, parmesan and white cheddar cheeses in a savory tomato basil sauce.
New McCain Marché Harvest Pockets
McCain’s new Harvest Pockets feature a baked rosemary sourdough bun and are available in three varities – Three Cheese and Spinach, Roasted Chicken Club and Chicken Broccoli.
- Three Cheese and Spinach Harvest Pockets are stuffed with spinach, mozzarella, provolone and parmesan cheeses, all baked into a rosemary sourdough bun.
- Roasted Chicken Club Harvest Pockets consists of roasted chicken, bacon and tomatoes, all wrapped in rosemary sourdough.
- Chicken Broccoli Harvest Pockets feature savoury roasted chicken, broccoli, and white Alfredo sauce stuffed inside a rosemary sourdough pocket.
New McCain Marché Protein Pop’ables
New McCain Protein Pop’ables are jam packed snackable bits with between 13-23 grams of protein per 120 gram serving. Protein Pop’ables come in three varieties – Chicken Parmesan Cheese, Jamaican Beef and Italian Sausage.
- Chicken Parmesan Cheese Pop’ables are packed with quality protein and flavors of crushed tomatoes, chicken and parmesan, in a soft dough with breadcrumb topping.
- Jamaican Beef Protein Pop’ables features quality protein with spicy Jamaican flavors in a spicy, soft turmeric dough.
