The series begins as Goldman and co-host, Lorraine Pascale split a group of twelve of the most disastrous bakers in the country into two teams. From this point, Duff and Lorraine must lead their teams through a grueling baking boot camp consisting of a series of baking challenges over six weeks.

Based on their performances and progress, the recruits will be narrowed down each week until only two remain standing. The final two will face off in an intense bakery battle for a chance to win the grand prize of $25,000, and earn bragging rights for their team leader.

During the premiere episode, Duff and Lorraine assess the contestants’ skills by challenging them to create desserts inspired by pictures and recipes from Food Network’s website. Duff and Lorraine quickly learn that they’re in for a rough ride and have to go back to baking basics and start with a simple sugar cookie.

As the series progresses, look for episodes featuring terrifying treats for Halloween, wedding cake decorating, pie contests, and animal-shaped sweets.

‘Worst Bakers in America’ premieres on the Food Network on Sunday, October 2nd at 10 p.m.
