Chick-fil-A is testing five new menu items in select markets featuring healthy ingredients like kale, quinoa, farro, roasted butternut squash and diced apples, as it looks to attract more health-conscious consumers.

The chain started testing two new grain bowls this week: the Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl and Egg White Grill Grain Bowl. The new items will be available at participating restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, Tampa, Florida, and Huntsville, Alabama for a limited time.

In addition to the grain bowls, Chick-fil-A is rolling out three new breakfast items in select markets: the Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, the Egg White Grill Bowl and the new Berry Protein Blend smoothie. Fans the states of New York and New Jersey, and cities of San Diego, Columbia, South Carolina, and Washington, DC will be the first to taste the three new breakfast items this fall.

New Grain Bowls

Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl

The Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl features a blend of red quinoa, white quinoa and farro, roasted butternut squash and diced apples on a fresh bed of chopped kale. The dish is topped with a goat and feta cheese blend and tart dried cherries and a blend of roasted nuts (walnuts, almonds and pecans). It’s served with a new Light Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing.

The new Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl with chicken contains 370 calories and packs 22 grams of protein and starts at $8.19. The vegetarian option contains 300 calories with 9 grams of protein and starts at $6.75.

Egg White Grill Grain Bowl

The Egg White Grill Grain Bowl features the same blend grain blend of red quinoa, white quinoa and farro, along with scrambled egg whites, grilled chicken and a Monterey jack and cheddar cheese blend.

The Egg White Grill Grain Bowl contains 220 calories and 29 grams of protein, and starts at $4.95.

The new Harvest Kale & Grain Bowl and Egg White Grill Grain Bowl will only be available in participating restaurants during a limited-time test. The company will evaluate customer feedback to determine if the new menu items will rollout nationwide in the future.

Three New Breakfast Menu Items

Hash Brown Scramble

The Hash Brown Scramble is served as a burrito or in a bowl and features crispy Chick-fil-A Hash Browns, scrambled eggs, a Monterey Jack cheddar cheese blend and a choice of sliced Chick-fil-A Nuggets or sausage. It is served with Jalapeño Salsa.

The bowl version contains 450 calories and 30 grams of protein, while the burrito contains 650 calories and 31 grams of protein.

Egg White Grill Bowl

The Egg White Grill Bowl is a low calorie protein-packed breakfast entrée that features freshly scrambled egg whites, a Monterey Jack cheddar cheese blend and sliced grilled chicken. It is also served with Jalapeño Salsa.

The Egg White Grill Bowl contains 180 calories and is loaded with 29 grams of protein.

Berry Protein Blend

The new Berry Protein Blend is made with chia seeds, ancient grains, mixed berries and yogurt and handspun with a small portion of Chick-fil-A’s signature Icedream and topped with Honey Brown Sugar Granola to give it an extra crunch.

The Berry Protein Blend beverage has 340 calories and 23 grams of protein.

The three new breakfast items will only be available at participating locations during the limited-time test. Following the test, Chick-fil-A will evaluate customer feedback to determine if any, or all of the new menu items will rollout nationwide in the future.
