All she wanted was an order of Domino’s wings for lunch. What she got was the surprise of her life.
Selena Avalos, a Spacetel Wireless manager in San Jose, California, ordered some wings last week for lunch. When she opened the box, she found three stacks of cash, totaling almost $5,000 inside.
Realizing the delivery driver had made a huge error, Avalos immediately called the Domino’s store where she had placed her order to inform the manager of the mix-up. But in a bizarre twist, nobody bothered to call her back.
Feeling confused and wanting to return the money to its rightful owner, Avalos contacted ABC7 News for help. The station worked the phones and was able to connect Avalos with the Domino’s franchise owner.
For her honesty, Avalos’ employer rewarded her with a week off with pay. She’s also being treated with free pizza for a year from Domino’s.
