Earlier this summer Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s were both spotted testing a new burger featuring a Budweiser-flavored beer cheese in select US markets. That burger, as it was called then “Budweiser Brew House Bacon Cheeseburger” is set to be released nationwide on October 26, 2016, according to a Hardee’s employee with intimate knowledge of the situation.

The new burger features a beef patty, Budweiser Beer Cheese, caramelized onions, applewood-smoked bacon strips, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato sandwiched between a brioche-style bun.

During the testing phase, the 1/3 pound version of the burger was selling for $5.29. No word yet on nationwide pricing, but I expect it to debut north of the $5 mark.

Additionally, the chain will also be launching new Budweiser Beer Cheese Bacon Fries, featuring the chain’s new Budweiser Beer Cheese plus bacon bits, all served over curly fries, according to a Reddit post by Hardee’s worker mikeshouse110.

mikeshouse110 tried both, and wrote the following:

I just tried this burger and I am quite underwhelmed at the taste of the cheese on it. I was expecting a strong beer cheese taste, but instead it just tastes like a bacon cheese burger. The fries, however, are really good.

We’ll keep you updated on this new Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s LTO as information becomes available.
