The Kickin’ Cajun Cheeseburger features a beef patty, Tabasco brand spicy mayo, fried onion tanglers, lettuce and tomato all served between a toasted bun. Sonic serves the burger with a packet of Tony Chachere’s Famous Creole Seasoning. The burger is priced at $3.99.
The new burger came to light after Reddit user thesodaman posted an image of the offering on Reddit. But the Kickin’ Cajun Cheeseburger is only new in name. The chain has been offering a similar University of Louisiana at Lafayette-themed burger at South Louisiana Sonic locations for the past five years during football season. The Ragin’ Cajun Burger as it’s called, features the exact same elements as the Kickin’ Cajun Cheeseburger, but comes with an edible Ragin’ Cajuns logo.

Which begs the question: Is Sonic planning to launch the Kickin’ Cajun Cheeseburger throughout the South, or perhaps nationwide?
Interestingly enough, back in 2011, Sonic offered the limited-time Kickin’ Coney hot dog, featuring a pure beef dog topped with chili, cheddar cheese, crispy onions and chipotle BBQ sauce.
