Taco Bell appears to have reimagined its XXL Chalupa and brought it back in select markets with a new name: the Double Chalupa.

As far as I can tell, the XXL Chalupa first appeared on national Taco Bell menus back in 2010, and since that time has been more or less an on-and-off the menu item – mostly off.

The reinvented Double Chalupa features double the beef and warm nacho cheese sauce, topped with crunchy red strips, a 3-cheese blend, fiesta salsa, and cool reduced-fat sour cream. Taco Bell is also offering a Spicy Double Chalupa version this time around. Interestingly enough, there doesn’t appear to be a chicken version available.

Both versions of the Double Chalupa sell for $3.49 each on their own, or you can go with a $5 Double Chalupa Big Box, featuring a Double Chalupa plus a Doritos Locos Taco, a Crunchy Taco, and a medium drink. Dollar for dollar, the Big Box meal deal definitely offers the best value.

In addition to the Double Chalupa, Taco Bell has also been spotted testing new Caesar Crunchwraps in select markets. The new Caesar Crunchwrap is basically a new twist on a regular Crunchwrap with grilled chicken, Cesar dressing, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and new Parmesan Crisps for the added crunch.

If you can find them, the new Caesar Crunchwraps are being offered for $2.99 each, or as part of a $5 Caesar Crunchwrap Box meal. Just like the $5 Double Chalupa Big Box, the $5 Caesar Crunchwrap Box offers the best value for your money.
