The new sandwich was spotted by Eric, aka The Endorsement, during a stop at his local Burger King for a Froot Loops Shake. As fate would have it, Eric was denied his Froot Loops Shake due to a shake machine breakdown, but he was rewarded with a first look at the new Steakhouse King Sandwich.
In what appears to be a twist on the brand’s Bacon King Sandwich lineup, the Steakhouse King features two quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patties, thick-cut smoked bacon, two American cheese slices, A.1 Steak Sauce, and crispy fried onions on a sesame seed bun.
The new sandwich cost $5.99 on its own, or you can get one as part of a meal combo with fries and a drink for $8.99.
Interestingly enough, Burger King in the U.K. has been offering a Steakhouse Burger on their menu in one form or another since 2013. The current U.K. version features a flame-grilled beef patty, bacon, cheese, crispy onion, Western BBQ sauce, lettuce and tomato on a corn dusted bun.
You’ll also find variations of a Steakhouse Burger on the menu at a variety of locations in Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
While you’re here, take a moment to check out Eric’s early review of the new Steakhouse King.
