While the Banana Split Frappuccino has been exclusively available as a “secret” menu item at a small Starbucks location at the Desert Hills outlet in Palm Springs, the beverage has never been made widely available on the brand’s official menu – until now – at participating locations in Asia. But while they share the same name, that’s where the similarities end, as the recipes differ significantly.
Banana Split Frappuccino
Described as a drinkable ice cream sundae, the Banana Split Frappuccino features a blend of sweet strawberry whipped cream and banana and mocha, topped with vanilla whipped cream and chunky and crunchy waffle pieces.
U.S. Secret Menu Version
The U.S. secret menu version features a strawberries and creme frappuccino base blended with vanilla bean powder, java chips, a whole banana, whipped cream, and a mocha drizzle.
Additionally, the brand is also offering the Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino and Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino in its Asia locations.
Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino
The Irish Cream Coffee Pudding Frappuccino features a coffee pudding base infused with Irish Cream and topped with fluffy espresso whipped cream and finely ground espresso powder.
Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino
The Matcha Earl Grey Jelly Frappuccino features a bright layer of green tea while traditional Earl Grey tea is transformed into a jelly layer and finished with whipped cream and Matcha powder.
