We got our first look at what was generally described as Taco Bell’s reimagined XXL Chalupa last December when the item was spotted on the menu in select markets with a new name: the Double Chalupa. Fast forward six months later and the limited-time Double Chalupa is available nationwide at participating locations.

Available in two varieties, Regular and Spicy, the standard Double Chalupa features an extra-large Chalupa shell, stuffed with a double portion of savory seasoned beef, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, Nacho Cheese Sauce and reduced-fat sour cream. The Spicy Double Chalupa version gets its kick from an additional topping of sliced jalapenos.
You can find both the Double Chalupa and the Spicy Double Chalupa at participating locations for a suggested price of $3.49 each, however, my local Taco Bell charges slightly more – $3.69 and $3.89 respectively.
Both items are also available as part of Taco Bell’s $5 Double Chalupa Big Box, with a Doritos Locos Taco, a Crunchy Taco, and a medium drink.
