For those that keep track of these things, KFC has tapped Ray Liotta as the latest celebrity to portray the chain’s founder Colonel Harland Sanders.

In his new role as the Colonel, Liotta finds himself torn between two of the brand’s signature flavors: Georgia Gold Honey Mustard BBQ and Nashville Hot.
KFC said Liotta was selected for the role because of his celebrated ability to play multi-faceted characters.
“When they asked me to take on twice the role of any Colonel before me, I thought ‘man, this is really going to be interesting and will be a role I haven’t been able to take on before,'” said Liotta.
“But as I got into character and put on that infamous Colonel mustache I really was able to have fun with it and enjoy playing the person that is seen in commercials and billboards across the nation,” added Liotta.
Georgia Gold honey mustard BBQ and Nashville Hot are the first of KFC’s authentic regional flavors the brand is bringing to restaurants nationwide.
Look for KFC advertising spots featuring Ray Liotta as the new celebrity Colonel to begin airing on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
Other celebrities tapped to fill the shoes of the KFC frontman include Rob Lowe, Rob Riggle, Billy Zane, George Hamilton, Jim Gaffigan, Norm Macdonald, and Darryl Hammond.
