The Beyond Sausage looks and sizzles like a traditional pork sausage, but packs in more more protein, 43 percent less fat, 26 percent less sodium and 27 percent fewer calories than its pork equivalent.
The “missing link,” pun intended – as Beyond Meat refers to it – is launching exclusively at the Beyond Burger restaurant inside the Whole Foods Market Pearl Street store in Boulder, where it will be available in three flavors: Original Bratwurst, Hot Italian and Sweet Italian.
Builds available include the Original Bratwurst topped with sauerkraut and mustard, Hot Italian with grilled red and green peppers, and Sweet Italian with pickled vegetables, pepperoncini, and grilled red onions.
When the Beyond Burger first launched in May of 2016 at the Whole Foods Market Pearl Street store in Boulder, it sold out in about an hour.
Since then, the Beyond Burger has continued to grow in popularity and can now be found at more than 5,000 grocery stores nationwide, including Kroger, Albertsons Companies, Ahold Delhaize and Whole Foods Market, as well as on the menu at more than 4,000 restaurants, hotels and college campus dining halls nationwide.
