Wendy’s First Kitchen Japan partners with Kadokawa Pictures for the launch of new Pizza-Flavored Fries in celebration of the upcoming movie release “When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead.” That’s not a typo.

The pizza-flavored fries feature a combination of pizza sauce and cheese flavors, and carry a suggested price of ¥ 280 (US$2.55) for a medium, ¥ 330 (US$3.00) for a large, and ¥ 450 (US$4.10) for a box.

The movie itself is based on a 2010 Yahoo! Answers post by K. Kajunsky about his wife’s eccentric behavior – always pretending to be dead when he arrives home.

I’m certainly not an expert on Japanese pop culture, but the tie-in between the pizza-flavored fries and the movie (When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead) is related to a wife always pretending to be dead, and the fries pretending to be pizza. (Kind of bizarre)

The movie hits theatres in Japan on June 8, 2018. A teaser trailer for the movie can be viewed below:
