As the name implies, cold brew coffee is brewed with cold water as opposed to hot water. As a result, the final product has about 50 percent less acid than hot water-brewed coffee.

Trader Joe’s Cold Brew Coffee Bags are filled with 100 percent Arabica medium-roast coffee, grown in Tanzania at the base Mt. Kilimanjaro.

The chain is selling Cold Brew Coffee Bags in resealable 8.5-ounce packages with four large coffee bags for $5.99.

To brew it, simply toss two bags into a pitcher with seven cups of cold water, and let it steep in the fridge overnight for 8 to 12 hours. Two bags will yield seven 8-fluid ounce cups of cold brew – which works out to 43 cents per cup.
