The chain has announced that it will test “Mealtime Kits” at 150 locations across the Atlanta area beginning August 27 through November 17, 2018.
While meal kits aren’t new, Chick-fil-A is the first major US fast food chain to run with the concept.
Chick-fil-A’s Mealtime Kits are designed to make it easy for fans to cook their own meals at home using fresh, pre-measured ingredients that they can order at the chain’s drive-thru, front counter, or via the Chick-fil-A One app.
For the testing phase, Chick-fil-A will rotate five different meal kit recipes: Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Enchiladas, Dijon Chicken, Pan Roasted Chicken and Chicken Flatbread.
Each meal kit is designed to serve two and includes sides such as macaroni & cheese and kale salad. The kits cost $15.89 each and participating restaurants will offer two recipes at a given time.
Chick-fil-A plans to gauge consumer interest before deciding whether to roll out the new concept nationwide.
