Priced at $1, the Midnight Melt Taco features seasoned beef, tomatoes, lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream and nacho cheese sauce in a crispy, new blue corn taco shell. It’s identical to the brand’s Crunchy Taco Supreme build, with the addition of nacho cheese sauce and blue corn shell in place of a traditional taco shell.

The taco itself is a novelty item, well suited for the upcoming 2018 Halloween season. Perhaps that’s exactly where Taco Bell is going with this. I wouldn’t rule out additional Halloween-themed items if that’s that case – perhaps a Midnight Pumpkin Seed Freeze?

The limited-time test item was spotted by Reddit user Oblake, as well as YouTube reviewer Ian Keiner aka Peep This Out, near the home of Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine, California.
