Starting today (December 18, 2018) travelers passing through Philadelphia International Airport can purchase a three-piece chicken tenders combo with an “Emotional Support Chicken” carrier at the Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Terminal C to bring with them on their flight.

For those not familiar with emotional support animals, they provide comfort and companionship, especially during a highly stressful time like air travel. However, in recent times, some travelers are pushing the envelope with the types of animals they try to bring on flights and classify as “emotional support animals,” including peacocks, squirrels and tarantulas.

With tongue firmly planted in cheek, Popeyes decided to launch their very own emotional support animal for the holiday travel season in the form a cardboard box folded in the shape of a chicken and filled with the original form of comfort – food.
