For the first time ever, McAlister’s Deli is testing a plant-based protein sandwich: the new Chimichurri Sandwich.

The Chimichurri Sandwich features chimichurri marinated protein, balsamic onions, provolone cheese, chimichurri aioli, tomato, and spring mix on toasted ciabatta.
In addition to the plant-based protein option, fans can also get the Chimichurri Sandwich with traditional chicken or roast beef.
Testing of the new sandwich is currently taking place at seven locations in Chicago, as well as seven locations in Knoxville, TN, through March 26, 2019. If you happen to be near any one of the 14 test locations, you can pick up any version of the sandwich for $8.99.
