Pizza Hut is teaming up with FedEx to explore the use of the FedEx SameDay Bot as a new pizza delivery platform.

The FedEx SameDay Bot – currently under development by FedEx and the DEKA Research and Development Corp. – features proprietary technology that allows it to navigate unpaved surfaces, curbs, and even steps.
As part of Pizza Hut’s ongoing effort to modernize and improve its pizza delivery experience, the pizza chain is teaming up with FedEx to explore the use of the bot for local pizza delivery.
Testing is slated to begin as early summer 2019 in select markets pending final city approvals.
As part of the upcoming testing process, the FedEx SameDay Bot will serve as support to existing delivery staff in an effort to improve efficiency of the delivery process in local markets without compromising pizza quality.
