On tonight’s episode of Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer and crew are back in Puerto Rico to save the Shibo, a bar supposedly ruined by Hurricane Maria.

Created by chef Jonathan Cruz, the Shibō specializes in unique Latin-Asian soul food, which is a fusion of traditional Asian and Latin dishes developed by Cruz.
Tonight’s episode was filmed almost a year ago back in April 2018.
According to the episode synopsis, Taffer heads to San Juan, Puerto Rico where “a brother and sister duo find themselves in over their heads after their bar was destroyed by Hurricane Maria.”
However, upon inspection, Taffer is surprised to find the Shibo in relatively good condition for a bar that was supposed to be destroyed by a hurricane. This leads Taffer to believe the owners have been neglecting their responsibility to clean up the establishment for the past several months.
