Hardee’s will test plant-based burgers and sausages from Beyond Meat later this fall, the company confirmed today.

Starting on October 28, select locations will begin testing a Beyond Thickburger and Beyond Sausage on a Hardee’s biscuit.
Hardee’s sister brand Carl’s Jr. was one of the first major US fast-food chains to partner with Beyond Meat for the releases of the Beyond Famous Star Burger earlier this year.
According to Bloomberg, both plant-based offerings will feature “recipes specifically for Hardee’s and not available elsewhere.”
The news comes shortly after a change.org petition started by Alisha Vavilakolanu asking the chain to add a vegan Beyond Meat option saw rapid growth.
While we have no evidence to suggest the petition played a role in influencing the brand to move forward with a Beyond Meat option, it does provide somewhat anecdotal evidence that there is a demand for plant-based meat alternatives at Hardee’s.
