On tonight’s episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his team are in Michigan to rescue Chez Olga, a struggling Caribbean restaurant located in Grand Rapids.

Chez Olga is owned by Olga Benoit (Personal Facebook page), and managed by her daughter Dodlie Benoit (Personal Instagram, and Facebook page). Olgo, who grew up in Haiti before coming to the US, opened Chez Olga in 2010.

As per the episode synopsis: “Robert Irvine heads to Chez Olga in Grand Rapids, Mich., where the struggling Caribbean restaurant’s dingy dining room, bland menu and terrible kitchen are tearing apart the mother and daughter who run it. Robert must completely revamp the look and menu as well as get the owners to work as partners, or this restaurant is sure to fail.”

In an interview published this week, Robert Irvine told MLive that Chez Olga “had no identity, no personality,” and the food “was not even mediocre at best.”

“As nice as Olga and her daughter were…. I think they just lost their way, trying to do something they couldn’t achieve,” Robert was quoted as saying.

Tonight’s episode, “Caribbean Catastrophe” was filmed on May 19 and May 20, 2019.
