Restaurant Impossible At Madison Street Retro Diner In Muncie, Indiana

On tonight’s episode of Restaurant: Impossible, Robert Irvine and his crew are in Muncie, Indiana to makeover the Madison Street Retro Diner.

The Madison Street Retro Diner (Facebook page) is a home-style, American restaurant that’s rundown and in dire straits. Owner Rita Watkins is in failing health and her daughter Meilssa is failing to step up to the plate and take charge. Robert is tasked with providing Melissa with the tools and confidence she needs to keep the restaurant afloat while Taniya Nayak and Tom Bury work their makeover magic on the restaurant.

The makeover happened on July 23 and July 24, 2019.

On July 25, the Madison Street Retro Diner posted the following statement on its Fccebook page:

“Before I go to sleep tonight, I want to thank all of the amazing members of our community, Robert Irvine, Taniya Nayak, Tom Bury, and the entire crew from Restaurant Impossible. My team and family are going to take a day off from service to train and organize so that we can come back refreshed and prepared. Thank you again.”

The next day, the following message appeared:

“We are so excited to share our brand new Retro Diner with Muncie! We will close at 4 to catch up. Thank you for being patient today as we found out where the weak spots were with our new menu and remodel. Muncie, you literally ran us out of food! Thank you for your patience, and we will open tomorrow for our normal hours. Don’t forget to tell anyone and everyone that we are hiring for all positions.”

On July 29, the Madison Street Retro Diner took to Facebook to thank all their patrons while they worked out all the kinks after a difficult week:

“The first week after our grand re-opening has been long and difficult. I want to thank all of the customers who have been patient while we worked out a few of the kinks. The response from Muncie has been overwhelmingly positive.

Now that we have hired a full staff we will be closed at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, and all day Thursday to do some much needed training and organization. We look forward to reopening Friday with all the staff we need trained well enough to implement all of the tools Robert Irvine has so graciously given us. We look forward to making Robert proud!”
