Cheese, not bacon is the new star topping at Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s as the sister brands debut the Big Fried Cheese – a melty, cheesy, menu innovation that will top its burgers and sandwiches in a way that may actually eclipse bacon.
The Big Fried Cheese, aka BFC, will officially make its debut at both Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s as part of the Big Fried Cheese Angus Thickburger, while the Big Fried Cheese Frisco Breakfast Sandwich will debut exclusively at Hardee’s.
As the name suggests, the Big Fried Cheese topping is basically a deep-fried cheese patty consisting of cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese coated in a seasoned breading and deep-fried until crispy and golden brown.
The BFC Angus Thickburger features a signature one-third pound Angus beef burger patty, charbroiled over an open flame, topped with the Big Fried Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Boom Boom sauce, all sandwiched between a toasted, buttery premium bun.
Meanwhile, the BFC Frisco Breakfast Sandwich includes a folded egg, topped with the Big Fried Cheese and applewood-smoked bacon on fresh sourdough toast.
Additionally, the Big Fried Cheese can also be added to any of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s burgers and breakfast sandwiches for a suggested price of $3.00 – may vary.
The BFC Angus Thickburger starts at a suggested price of $5.99, while the BFC Frisco Breakfast Sandwich starts at a suggested price of $4.49, although price and participation may vary by location.
