The so-called “Veggie Mode” is a single-swipe feature that unlocks Taco Bell’s nearly 50 American Vegetarian Association (AVA)-certified items. Think of it as a vegetarian-only secret menu, but for everyone – carnivores included.

Many of the unlocked menu items were not previously featured on Taco Bell’s menu, like the Black Bean Chalupa Supreme. Additionally, Taco Bell has expanded its amount of AVA-certified vegetarian ingredients, now including fried favorites like Potato Bites and Hash Browns.

With a swipe of a finger, activating Veggie Mode unlocks new versions of classic Taco Bell menu items, including the following examples:

  • Beefy 5-Layer Burrito: Layered Vegetarian Burrito
  • Chalupa Supreme: Black Bean Chalupa Supreme
  • Chicken Soft Taco: Black Bean Soft Taco
  • Sausage Flatbread Quesadilla: Egg & Cheese Flatbread Quesadilla

As always, fans still have the ability to customize their orders while in Veggie Mode, with more than 20 million possible vegetarian menu combinations.
