The test is set to take place in three Tier 1 cities across China starting on Tuesday. KFC fans in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen will have a chance to sample the new KFC Plant-Based Chicken Nuggets in-store, at a special price of RMB 1.99 (28-cents US) for a five piece order.

KFC Plant-Based Chicken Nuggets are made with a mix of protein such as soy, wheat, and special pea, which help create a taste that emulates real chicken. After being cooked, KFC’s iconic crispy golden layer is added, and perfected for Chinese palates by adding a small amount of locally sourced water chestnut to make the KFC Plant-Based Chicken Nuggets even more juicer.
