J Balvin Meal Pickle Controversy

It’s worth noting that the Big Mac promo image of the new J Balvin Meal featured on McDonald’s website clearly shows a Big Mac dressed with pickles. However, in an interview with complex, J Balvin indicated his go-to McDonald’s meal features a Big Mac without pickles. Furthermore, the official image that accompanies a news release announcing the nationwide launch of the new meal shows J Balvin reaching for fries next to a Big Mac (see below) that does not appear to have pickles.

You can snag the J Balvin Meal at participating locations nationwide for a limited time through November 1, 2020. Fans who purchase the J Balvin Meal in the McDonald’s app will receive the Oreo McFlurry for free.

The $6 Travis Scott Meal was available as a limited-time only offering from September 8 through October 4, 2020. McDonald’s retired the meal on Sunday.

J Balvin is a Colombian reggaeton singer, who is often referred to as the “Prince of Reggaeton.” He’s one of the best-selling Latin music artists with sales of more than 35 million records – albums and singles –worldwide.

With the launch, J Balvin becomes only the third celebrity associated with a meal featured on the McDonald’s menu since 1992. Prior to J Balvin, McDonald’s featured the Travis Scott Meal (2020) and the Michael Jordan Meal (1992).
