McDonald’s is preparing to fire a salvo of its own in the ongoing chicken sandwich wars by launching a new Crispy Chicken Sandwich nationwide in 2021.

While details remain sketchy at this time, it is worth noting that the brand tested new Crispy Chicken Sandwiches at select locations in Knoxville, Tennessee and Houston, Texas late last year.
McDonald’s describes their new Crispy Chicken Sandwich arriving in 2021 as featuring a “craveable crispy chicken fillet, topped with crinkle cut pickles and butter, all served on a toasted potato roll.”
The official description sounds identical to sandwiches tested in Knoxville and Houston:
- Crispy Chicken Sandwich: A fried chicken filet topped with butter and crinkle-cut pickles on a toasted potato roll.
- Deluxe Crispy Chicken Sandwich: a fried chicken filet topped with butter and crinkle-cut pickles plus tomatoes, lettuce and mayo on a toasted potato roll.
