On tonight’s special two-hour episode of Restaurant Impossible, Robert Irvine and his team are in Billings, Montana to save the Don Luis Restaurant. Robert also revisits Perella’s Ristorante  in Warren, Rhode Island.

Robert is in Billings to help Don Luis Restaurant’s widowed owner (Carmen Salazar) move past her grief and embrace the future to save her business and preserve her husband’s (Don “Luis” Salazar) legacy.

According to the Don Luis Restaurant’s “about” page, “Luis and Carmen Salazar started their restaurant 15 years ago as a labor of love for their community – to offer true Mexican cuisine and delicious non-Mexican meals. This family-owned and operated establishment prides itself on being a place where fine-dining meets friendly, personable service.”

The Restaurant Impossible makeover took place back in mid-September 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following message appear on the Don Luis Facebook page on September 16, 2020:

I want to thank, Robert Irvine and Restaurant Impossible. And I can’t leave out all the wonderful crew. That gave me a new outlook on my business, and also helped out my staff. Our our opening day will be Friday at 11 o’clock September 18th. We will be introducing our brand new menu. And we’re so excited for all of you to join us here at Don Luis restaurant.
