Let’s take a closer look at the implications:
Fans of the 2 For $5 Mix and Match will recall the value menu included any two of the following select entrees for 5 bucks:
- Whopper Sandwich
- Fish Sandwich
- Original Chicken Sandwich
- 9-piece Chicken Fries
Its replacement, the new Buy One, Get One for $1 deal (BOGO + $1) includes:
- Whopper Sandwich
- Fish Sandwich
- Original Chicken Sandwich
- 9-piece Chicken Fries
- Impossible Whopper
While the new BOGO + $1 promotion adds the Impossible Whopper to the value menu, the 2 For $5 Mix and Match deal offered more bang for the buck.
For example, with the 2 For $5 Mix and Match deal, anyone could score any two items on the menu for $5, including two Whopper Sandwiches for 5 bucks if that was your thing. Under the new BOGO + $1 offer, you’ll have to buy a Whopper at regular menu price ($5.59 at my local Burger King), and add a buck to get a second – for a total of $6.59. That’s $6.59 for the BOGO + $1 promotion vs $5 for the 2 For $5 Mix And Match promotion.
Impossible Whopper Joins 2 for $10 Meal Deal
As part of the brand’s value menu restructuring, Burger King also adds the Impossible Whopper to the 2 for $10 Meal Deal, which includes any two entrees from the value menu, served with two small fries and two small drinks for 10 bucks.
